HOUSE VOTES TO APPROVE TRANSPORTATION FUNDING BILL

Just moments ago, the Virginia House of Delegates voted 60-40 to pass the transportation funding legislation, HB 2313. Several Delegates spoke very strongly in favor of the bill including, Delegates Chris Jones, Dave Albo, Onzlee Ware, Lionell Spruill, Mathew James, Vivian Watts, Tag Greason, Berverly Sherwood, David Toscano, and Terry Kilgore. Delegates Ben Cline and Bob Marshall spoke against the bill. (Final vote tally was not available at the time of this notice).

The Senate will likely vote on the bill tomorrow.  Frankly, and ironically, things look close the Senate.  Senate Democrats want to “link” the Governor’s transportation funding bill to Medicare. Consequently, the Senate Democrats are saying they will not support the transportation funding bill unless there is a resolution to funding for Medicare. UNBELIEVABLE but true.

Please take time to call your Senator NOW, to let them know you want them to support sustainable funding for transportation.  Ask them to support the Conference Committee Report on HB 2313. Senate Contact Information
