General Assembly Update

The following additional transportation bills have been pre-filed for the 2014 General Assembly session:

HB 87 Priority of Funding for Transportation Projects (Cole): Provides that all state funds expended on transportation projects be for (i) projects expected to provide congestion reduction or (ii) projects that increase safety for travelers.

SB 38 Hybrid Electric Motor Vehicles (Marsden): Repeals the $64 annual license tax on hybrid electric motor vehicles that was first imposed beginning July 1, 2013. The bill also provides for refunds of the license tax paid on hybrid electric motor vehicles for registration years beginning on or after July 1, 2014.
